Scott obtained his real estate license in 1996 and has been selling real estate in the Albuquerque area full time ever since. In 1999 he achieved the GRI designation, which stands for Graduate of Realtor Institute. This designation requires 90+ hours of specialized real estate related courses. He also completed the additional coursework and passed the exam to become a Qualifying Broker. In 2004 Scott completed the NAR Mediation training program. He is a certified mediator for the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS.
Throughout his real estate career he has spent countless hours volunteering for Real Estate Boards at the local, state, and national levels. On the local level, Scott became a member of the Board of Directors in 1999 and became the Chairman of the Board for GAAR (Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS) in 2007, an organization with approximately 4500 members. He completed the GAAR Leadership Training Program in 2002. He has also served on various committees at the state level, RANM (Real Estate Association of New Mexico), including Strategic Planning, Professional Standards, and Budget and Finance as well as the RANM Board of Directors. He also completed the RANM Leadership Training Course. On the national level, Scott served (2008 and 2009, 2010) as a NAR (National Association of REALTORS) Director, Strategic Planning Committee member (there are approx. 1.3 million REALTORS worldwide, 18 are selected for this committee).
Being involved on the local, state, and national levels keeps him informed of industry issues, trends, and technology. In keeping with the latest developments in real estate, Scott has completed obtaining his Green designation, which is NAR’s brand new (as of Nov 2008) sustainable property designation. This knowledge and experience greatly benefits his clients and customers.
