This section is bordered on the south by Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Laboratories and the Albuquerque International Sunport. The South Ridgecrest and University areas contain charming older homes in established neighborhoods. Most homes here have been built in the 1930’s to 1960’s. “Deco” architecture can be seen here in the Ridgecrest neighborhood. There is easy access to hospitals and downtown. The surrounding area is considered to be the social stop for Albuquerque restaurants, coffee shops and theatre areas.
